Stroopwafels by Markus
Where are Markus stroopwafels made?
Stroopwafels by Markus are baked in an artisan bakery in Waddinxveen, the Netherlands.
Can I heat up the stroopwafels?
Ja hoor!
Heat the stroopwafel just a few seconds in the microwave. You can also put the stroopwafel on top of your cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. But caution! The warm vapor does make the crispy waffle warm, however, it also makes the waffle soft.

How long can I keep the stroopwafels?
Markus stroopwafels have a shelf life of at least 5 weeks after the date of shipping (= also the date of baking), when stored in a cool place. This may seem short, but the stroopwafels from Markus contain no artificial additives and preservatives. This is a ‘conscious’ choice, because these agents never benefit the taste of the stroopwafel.
What is the best way to store Markus stroopwafels?
Stroopwafels by Markus are best kept in the fridge. The stroopwafel is filled with a soft syrup and when you store them cool, the syrup becomes hard. This prevents the liquid in the syrup from getting into the waffle; moisture and changes in temperature make the waffle age faster. Take the stroopwafel out of the fridge about 15 minutes before eating and bring it to room temperature to enjoy your crispy waffle filled with soft syrup!
Can I freeze the stroopwafels?
Fresh stroopwafels from Markus are very suitable for freezing.

Can I send stroopwafels to a warm country?
It is not recommended to send stroopwafels to a country with a warm climate. The high temperature combined with the time the package is on the way will slowly make the syrup melt. The liquid from the syrup soaks into the crispy waffle. The stroopwafel will age quickly and become tougher. Look up the climate of the country in question in Google. It may be cooler at a different time of the year and it might be better possible to send stroopwafels then.
I live outside the European Union, do I have to pay import duties?
The recipient of orders going to countries outside the EU may be subject to import duties, customs obligations or additional costs levied by the destination country. These costs are borne by the customer. We have no insight into the amount of these costs. Import procedures vary in each country. For more information, please contact customs in the destination country.
Can I return my order?
The fresh stroopwafels by Markus that you order via Stroopwafels.Online have a limited shelf life and can therefore not be returned.
